Lalia competed for the position of 'First' with Aesar, a distant cousin who has a talent for healing and an attitude of 'Dalish First'. And it was never about the normal citizens that they have to worry about: but the nobles who are always looking for target practice and 'glory' in vanquishing 'savage elves'. They even managed to befriend and trade with some CE and non elves who they deemed trustworthy enough. When I 'built' my canon lavellan, I sort of started with Deshana and the general attitude that clan Lavellan has.įrom completing the war table mission in my proto run, I've decided that clan Lavellan is able to strike that balance: wary enough towards stranger shem, but wise enough not to be hostile. Thx floratheelf for showing how to spoiler And it's only a matter of time before all hell broke lose? They could either be going to Mythal, Solas, ElgarNan, etc. Has the Breach weakend the prison he created so much so that the Evanuris are now able to communicate back with the elves and starting to make their move? It could be that the army of elves are not going to the same master. That Thedas is giant piece of chessboard and that most of the pieces are already in place) Just what is it that he's trying to do in a hurry?Ĭould it be that he's in an even bigger mess that he's unwilling to tell us? (So we could live in that illusion of peace before the final curtain fall. If he intends to uplift the Elvhen People exclusively, then why the hell not accept Lavellan's help? S/he's proven to be resourcefull after all. Is he just trying to restore the natural state of Thedas and 'repair' it? If that is his goal, then why not let a pro-magic Lavellan/friend IQ give a shot on helping him in minimazing the cost of lives at least? Is it because although he holds some value on the lives of people of modern times, he values the lives of his old friends much more? The world of today's Thedas has to die and give way for the Ancient Elves? Which is true, he could befriend a IQ of any given race given the chance.īut then he plans on droping the veil knowing it will 'destroy' the IQ's world. And made me feel that he judges a person (then extend that to a group of people) based on their thinking and merits. To me he is someone that deeply cares too much on how things operate around him. Hates the Qun for robbing people's freedom of thought (elvhen or no) Been a long time )Īnd go tells Dorian that empires rise and fall. Like Cassandra is defined by her faith and not her cheekbones (or something along those lines. Damn that sounds too horrible in my mind.īut honestly, Solas really is a one puzzling egg to look at.ĭuring the game he told the IQ that it is the 'spirit' that defines a 'person'. He may try to find other less or non horrible method to tear the Veil, but have been preparing that as an emergency plan as the regretable action that must be done to achieve his plans X0 and he doesn't want her (or a befriended IQ) to see that. It does make a plausible explanation on WHY he wouldn't want Lavellan to follow him through the eluvian. But I don't think they really matter, and I don't think they're part of the various mysteries permeating the lore.īlood sacrifice in a scale greater than the Vint Magisters use to enter the Fade last time X0 In DA4 we'll probably meet the last one, and kill the last one, and maybe in DA5 they'll all show up at once or something. They're elves who had bodies, except they got rid of their bodies, so now they're spirits, and they maybe taught Tevinters blood magic, but you - a weak fragile tissue paper mortal - took out three of them all on your own so they can't be that powerful. So I think trying to speculate on how they fit into the story with Solas and the Evanuris is a bit unnecessary. I don't think they're important at all, really. Imshael, wonder of wonders, actually had lines and screen time, but even he was basically just a strong demon. The one from 2 was such a non-entity that I can't even be bothered to remember her name. Gaxkang's literally a reference to Baldur's Gate. Besides all that? They're just hidden mini bosses. Which gives them some degree of worth, I guess, but no more than any other sentient entity from Elvhenan. They apparently taught mankind blood magic, and according to Trespasser, appear to be people who abandoned physical form and got exiled and ostracized for their trouble. much of anything noteworthy, to be honest. I don't think they're the Forgotten Ones' spirit advisers. I don't think they're the Forgotten Ones but not. On the subject of the Forbidden Ones - I gotta admit, I see these guys as basically complete non-entities in the overall story.
